New Years

Overall, 2013 was a great year. It was filled with many great memories that I will share with my friends for the rest of my life. It taught me to appreciate me an everything that I have been lucky to receive. Also I appreciate the people in my life and learned to never take them for granted. In 2014 I will get rid of all the people bringing me down and make sure I'm a better person. Also I will be healthier and make better decisions.

Barnacle Shelters

• Twenty-three homeless shelter pods barnacled to the side of a railroad station in Marseilles, France
• Architect and former graffiti artist Stéphane Malka seeks out these neglected armpits of cities' public space and transforms them into light, flexible, emergency housing
• He calls the process "architectural kama sutra" because of the unorthodox positioning of the structures next to, above, or below traditional buildings and city elements
• Putting up the structure in September was also part of Malka's strategy. "In France, there's a rule saying in wintertime, you can't take someone out of housing," Malka explains 
• Meant to protect low- and middle income workers from being pushed out of housing and into the suburbs by obscene rent increases, recently passed laws now guarantee that most renters won't end up on the streets during the coldest months

Amazon Prime Air Drone

• Amazon purchases can soon be delievered and dropped at your door in less than 30 minutes
• The service would ship orders under five pounds
• The drone then delivers the package to customers within a 10 mile (16 km) radius of Amazon's fulfillment centers.
• "Safety will be our top priority, and our vehicles will be built with multiple redundancies designed to commercial aviation standards," the company says.
• The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently working on rules and regulations for unmanned aerial vehicles
